The project has excavated dozens of sites across the Arabian desert associated with the 1916-1918 revolt by Arab forces against the Ottoman Turks, then allied to Germany. The spent bullet was found at the site of the 1917 Hallat Ammar train ambush – immortalised in a scene in David Lean's Oscar-winning biopic Lawrence of Arabia – during fieldwork by Bristol's Professor Nicholas Saunders and Dr Neil Faulkner, and colleagues, as part of the Great Arab Revolt Project (GARP). ![]()

I decided to give this book a middle grade rating after reading the first book and summaries of the next five books in the series. It's long been on my list of books to read, especially since, as a bookseller, I noticed a large number of adult flocking to this series and raving about it. I purchased this book when it came out almost six years ago and my daughter read and enjoyed it.
